Terms of Service

Effective date: 30 August 2026 · Version: beta-2026-08-30

Ceqio AS — Terms of Service

In brief. Ceqio is a free online card game in beta. Play fairly, keep your account to yourself, and treat other players with respect. Because this is a beta, things will change — including a planned reset of all ratings — and the game is provided as-is. You can delete your account at any time. The full Terms below set out the details.

1. Introduction and Acceptance

1.1 These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern the use of the online card game platform available at ceqio.games (the “Service”), operated by Ceqio AS, organisation number 938 253 617, a private limited company registered in Norway (the “Company”).

1.2 By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, the user accepts these Terms. A user who does not accept the Terms must refrain from using the Service.

1.3 The Company’s processing of personal data in connection with the Service is described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is an information document and does not form part of these Terms.

1.4 The Service is currently offered free of charge as a beta version. No payment functionality is offered, and no fees are charged. Section 6 sets out the particular conditions that apply during the beta period.

2. Eligibility and Account

2.1 Use of the Service requires that the user has reached the age of 13, or such higher minimum age as is required to accept these Terms under the law of the user’s jurisdiction.

2.2 Each natural person may register one account only. The account is personal and may not be transferred, shared or sold. One active session per account is permitted at a time.

2.3 The user is responsible for keeping the account credentials confidential and for all activity occurring under the account. The Company shall be notified without undue delay of any suspected unauthorised use of an account, at the address stated in clause 12.2.

3. Licence

3.1 Subject to compliance with these Terms, the Company grants the user a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable and royalty-free right to access and use the Service for private, non-commercial entertainment purposes.

3.2 No rights are granted beyond those expressly stated in clause 3.1. The licence terminates upon deletion or suspension of the account or upon termination of these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 The user shall not:

  • (a) cheat, collude, or otherwise manipulate the outcome of matches, ratings or tournaments;
  • (b) use bots, scripts or other means of automating play, or otherwise interfere with the Service’s software, infrastructure or security measures;
  • (c) exploit errors or vulnerabilities in the Service (a discovered vulnerability should instead be reported to the Company at the address stated in clause 12.2);
  • (d) harass, threaten or abuse other players, or otherwise behave in a manner that disrupts the enjoyment of the Service by others; or
  • (e) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

4.2 Certain opponents in the Service are computer players. Computer players are identified as such on the leaderboard and participate in rated matches by design.

5. Display Names and User Content

5.1 The user’s display name is visible to other players. The user is responsible for the display name and any other content the user submits to the Service.

5.2 The user shall not adopt a display name, or submit content, that is offensive, misleading, impersonates another person, or infringes the rights of any third party.

5.3 The Company may modify or remove a display name or other submitted content that contravenes these Terms.

6. Beta Status

6.1 The Service is offered as a beta version for the purpose of testing and development. During the beta period:

  • (a) features, game modes, scoring and other elements of the Service may be modified, suspended or withdrawn without notice;
  • (b) all ratings are provisional. The Company expects to reset all ratings at least once, including upon the opening of the Service to the general public, as a consequence of changes to the rating model and the computer opponents during testing. A reset of ratings does not delete match history; and
  • (c) while the Company endeavours to preserve user data, no assurance is given against loss of data during the beta period.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 The Service, including the Ceqio name, artwork, software and all other materials made available through it, is owned by the Company or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. All rights not expressly granted under clause 3 are reserved. © 2026 Ceqio AS.

7.2 The Service incorporates open-source and openly licensed components. Attributions are set out at ceqio.games/legal/licenses.

8. Suspension and Termination

8.1 The user may cease using the Service at any time and may delete the account through the account settings.

8.2 The Company may suspend or terminate an account in the event of a breach of these Terms or of conduct that harms the Service or its users. Where reasonable in the circumstances, the Company will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach before termination.

8.3 The Company may modify, suspend or discontinue the Service in whole or in part, in particular during the beta period. Where practicable, reasonable advance notice of discontinuation will be given in the Service.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

9.1 The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the extent such disclaimer is permitted by applicable law.

9.2 To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service, including loss of data, ratings or match history during the beta period.

9.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, or restricts any mandatory rights the user holds as a consumer.

10. Amendments

10.1 The Company may amend these Terms as the Service develops, in particular during the beta period. The version and effective date stated above will be updated accordingly, and prior versions are retained on record.

10.2 Material amendments will be announced in the Service (News & Notes) and presented in the Service for express acceptance on the user’s next visit. In any event, continued use of the Service after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. A user who does not accept the amended Terms must cease using the Service and may delete the account in accordance with clause 8.1.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

11.1 These Terms are governed by Norwegian law.

11.2 Disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms which cannot be resolved amicably may be brought before Agder tingrett (Agder District Court).

11.3 Clauses 11.1 and 11.2 apply without prejudice to any mandatory legal provisions applicable to the user as a consumer.

12. Miscellaneous

12.1 If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

12.2 Enquiries concerning these Terms may be directed to support@ceqio.games.
